Humbling

I went to a school supported by a NGO today as a GE Volunteer for a community service event. It was a very humbling experience for me to see the intelligence, spark, enthusiasm and zest for life in the kids despite the various hard ships that they and their family have to face on a daily basis.

It's so easy for us to take for granted so many privileges that we have and crib for things that the majority of the human race can't even think of. It's days like these that bring me back to reality and makes me realize how lucky I am for which i should be grateful.

With this thought I hope to get some spark that i saw in the eyes of the wonderful kids today.

Inside Out

Every once in a while you look within

Searching for peace in the din

For answers which may be all around

But can’t be found due to the shaky ground

Look around and you’ll find

The world's going through a tougher grind

The tunnel’s visit is no big wonder

For some short, for some longer

Look in or look out

The demons are yours, have a bout
